Frequently Asked Questions
What does C.A.S. # mean?
C.A.S. stands for Chemical Abstract Services, a division of the American Chemical Society. The CAS number is a registry identifier for chemical compounds, polymers, biological sequences, mixtures and alloys. It was established with the intention to make database searches more convenient, as chemicals often have many names. Almost all molecule databases today allow searching by CAS number.
